Tech Mahindra Announced Deployment Blockchain Solution to Safeguards 300M Mobile Subscribers

Indian Tech giant Tech Mahindra announced on 2 May 2019 the successful deployment of an innovative method to block spam calls using Blockchain technology for the telecom sector in India. This will directly impact about 300 million mobile subscribers who are fighting with the problem of spam calls in their daily lives.

According to the latest press release, Tech Mahindra Ltd. will leverage Blockchain technology to fight the spam calls which is one of the major problems in the Indian telecom industry in compliance with the regulations & guidelines of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India).

The main objective of this model is to reduce the issue of unsolicited commercial communication (UCC) or spam calls.

Last year in August, Tech Mahindra announced the collaboration with Microsoft to build a robust ecosystem using Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to fight spam calls

Tech Mahindra also demonstrates Blockchain capabilities in diverse sectors including Telecom, Manufacturing, Hi-Tech Industries, and Financial Services

In 2018, Tech Mahindra designed the Blockchain solution, constituting more than 25% of the Indian market share, in compliance with the regulations and guidelines of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) in order to enable Telecom providers to prevent unauthorized access of their subscribers’ data.

Further, Tech Mahindra is also demonstrating Blockchain capabilities in diverse sectors including Telecom, Manufacturing, Hi-Tech Industries, and Financial Services. For example, in the finance sector, it has conceived a solution for one of the largest public sector banks in India to provide a rigid record of audit transactions and enable a single view of transaction data from multiple systems on the blockchain.

Addressing the organization’s acceleration in the Blockchain vertical, Rajesh Dhuddu, Global Practice Leader, Blockchain, Tech Mahindra, said,
